jd76
What are the recommended remotes for the HD5 and which one is best. If I buy any of these will they accept the standard headphone jack (I think Sony has different sized jacks depending upon equipment. 0 bangraman
The MC40 is the best remote for the HD5. Not as absolutely necessary as on the compromised HD3, but still handy.
0 jd76
thanks for the replies I'll check out the 40. 0 Tiesto
As you can see in my review I have the ex71. I bought them because every audio forum I visited rated them as the best earphones, and to tell you the truth, they werent wrong. Nevertheless, the headphone matter is a quite subjective, things like comfort, portability and fidelity have to be considered according to the personal necessities. But if a lot of people say they are good that must mean something... Edited January 24, 2006 by Tiesto
0 bangraman
I suppose it depends on what you mean by within reason.
0 Richard_p
For earphones i'd highly recommend Sony's MDR-ED21. These IMO are highly unsung as far as internet opinions go. I had a pair of EX-71's for about a week before the cord disintegrated on me and didn't enjoy it one bit. I found the sound was too bassy adn the trebble too exaggerated (probably to compenstate the overpowering bass). Although many say these require ALOT of burning in so a week probably wasn't long enough to get them to thier best.ED21's on the otherhand i find are just right in all areas, The bass remains impressive (much better than stock 'phones)without killing other frequencies so the overall response is nice and even. They also have the advantage of a Y shaped cord, not one of those silly neck chain things which leave the entire cord weight concentrated on one ear like the EX71's(made worse by the fact that there is the weight of the extension plug/socket thing aswell).I can't deny that many people like the sound of EX71's but after owning a pair i fail to see what it is.Oh yeah ED21's are also about £10 cheaper than EX71's.Godd luck finding a pair that's right for you anyway!
