Help with RH1 uploading legacy SP, stops 26% through

I finally got my RH1, and got it uploading some legacy SP recordings from several years back. I've only done one or two discs so far, but its so much quicker...

However, my third or fourth disc has two longer tracks of 25+ minutes that seem to make the uploading stop. It doesn't seem as if it should take quite that long..

anyone know why? are longer tracks supposed to take so much longer than several smaller tracks of the same time? it keeps saying "transfering" but the time remaining keeps getting bigger and bigger. On the Rh1, "ACCESS" keeps blinking. Trying to transfer SP to PCM...

The only thing I'm thinking is that perhaps I have a bad disc, or there is some dust or something under the cover. I havne't tried taking the disc and seeing if it plays those parts yet or not, but thought I'd ask here first.

I'm using sonic stage 4.0 (sonic stage 3.4 wouldn't recognize the standard MD discs) on an XP pro machine.

Also, I really need to get rid of my rh10 now, check my for sale thread.

thanks,

orange

Hi orangezero,

I think this should be your first step. I don't own an RH1 yet, but I've got some legacy discs that don't playback correctly and I anticipate some upload troubles with those. If the tracks do play correctly, but the upload doesn't work, you could of course record on your computer in realtime through the line out.

I'm not completely sure about upload times for long tracks vs. small tracks. I know that long PCM tracks from regular Hi-MD recordings can take a while to upload. One long track, compared to ten short tracks of equal length should take roughly the same amount of time to upload, but I'd think that the small tracks could take longer since it takes a moment for the filenames to be written.
