sonicstage 4.0 keeps crashing halfway through transfers. The rh1 freezes and will not respond to anything other than unplugging the usb.

An additional problem I've been having is the fact that sometimes windows mce does not recognize the unit until I unplug it and plug it in varios times.

Hi nothing,

Welcome to the forums. If SonicStage is freezing, it could be because of a hardware problem. Do you have any other USB mass storage devices hooked up? Maybe there is a conflict another device. Check the device manager in the control panel to make sure that all your hardware is installed and working correctly. Reinstalling SonicStage could be a fix for the problem. Try those things, and let us know of any further developments.

I have nothing else connected to the computer, it is a centrino duo laptop 1.83 with 1g ram running windows mce.

I have no conflicts usb or otherwise.

I do not know how to uninstall ss4.0 without losing library.

Is there a reason I can't upload mdlp files?

Why cant I hear playback of regular md's through the computer speakers?

Thanks for the time. This is the fourth unit I've owned, starting in 2000. My nh1 was stolen from my car, which forced me to buy another unit in order to access data files I'd stored on minidiscs.

Again, thank you.

Here's how to back up your Library. Look at the third method:

http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=16088

You can also run the Backup Tool, which is either within SonicStage or under [C:\Program Files\]

SonicStage on your Programs menu.

Regular MDs have never been able to play back through the computer--only Hi-MD formats.

You should be able to upload MDLP files UNLESS they were originally downloaded through SonicStage as NetMD transfers. Then they're stuck on the disc.
