JoeyJoeJo
I've downloaded some shows recorded from the soundboard. How do people do this? Do they slip the sound guy a 20 and ask him real nice? Also, to do this for my own band, would it just require hooking up a cable from the tape out rca jacks in the soundboard to the line in or mic input of my MD? Skradgee
For some reason, this calls for a tribute...Homer: Moe I need your advice... See I've got this friend named Joey Joe Joe Junior Shabadoo.Moe: That's the worst name I've ever heard.Guy: *runs out of the bar, crying*Barney: Aye! Joey Joe Joe!^ Audio^------Welcome to the forums. The sound guy probably has a job to do and doesn't want to get caught doing that...but I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask. The worst that he or she could say is 'no', but then you might be tipping them off that you are trying to record the show. With a good set of mics and some practice, it's possible to make audience recordings that can come very close to sounding like a soundboard recording.Tape Out or Line Out should do just fine if you have the right cable(s) to go to the Line In, but for best results make sure you disable auto gain control and manually adjust the level to a setting that is not too loud or too quiet.
