richthebeard
I seem to recall from the MDcenter review that it was possible to upload write-protected discs to SonicStage with the RH1. When I try to upload a write-protected self-recorded (analogue) Hi-MD recording SS tells me that I can't do it without de-protecting the disc.Is this how it should work? Will this be the same for all discs? If not, any suggestions (I think i'm using the latest SonicStage)? Thanks
Roamer
As far as I known, you can only upload write-protected legacy discs (80mn and 74 mn in SP/LP2/LP4), which is a pity as there no reason why it could not be done with HiMD (apart some old bug lying in the code ...). danielbb90
I'm under the impression you can't with any. (I might be wrong)But it is an annoyence, sony should enable this feature with SonicStage. Its a big issue.
indeego
You definitely can upload write-protected legacy MDs, but not Hi-MDs.And yes, this is just strange behaviour
mediageek
Interestingly, I have no problems uploading write-protected Hi-MD discs to my Intel Mac Mini using Hi-MD Music Transfer.I'll have to double check with my PC (or Windows in Parallels). Roamer
I think it's some code left from the check-in/out routines. But as we can now upload as many times as we want, this should be fixed. The Mac is not affected because the software had to be rewritten for it.
