tenchi
I am looking for an earphone less than $30. I'm currently looking at Sony MDR-ED21LP Fontopia Earbuds. Is this earbud good and has good durablity. I broke my last 2 earphone over 6months period, so i'm am looking for a durable one.
Richard_p
Personally i swear by my ED21's. I'd highly recommend them. Sound is really nice, having very present bass but nothing overpowering (read EX71's). The sound is really nice and even i feel that nothing is lacking or exaggerated whilst listening. As for durability it is very good, the cord is double stranded all the way down with a nice rubber material, again way better than the infamous EX71's cord.Comfort is also second to none, i often forget i' have them in if turned off, also people who have tried my pair out always tell me how well they seem to stick in their ears whilst other pairs normaly fall out. They also benefit massively from the Y shaped cord for comfort, this way the entire cable weight is not strung on one ear like the neckchain type wirew which so m any earbids have these days.Just so that it does not sound too biased i will tell you the only problem i have had with them. At the top of the hosuing is a bass reflex hole type thing (cover it up and alot of bass is lost), which i once manged to get some cornmeal trapped inside of whilst wearing them at my part time job this then caused a buzzing noise to develop and had to be replaced. I had owned that pair for about a year previous. As long as you you are careful around gritty/grainy stuff then you should be O.K. I regularly put them unprotected into the front pocket of my bag (which has it's share of random dirt at the bottom) and they are fine.
