Dr. Spankenstein
Since my recent acquisition of my stylin' RH-1, I have been looking for tips for keeping the "My Library" organized without having too many redundant copies of files lying around. Let me explain what I am working with.I have been cobbling together a music collection of rips and personal recordings that I have made over the past 12 years. Needles to say, it's a mixed bag of formats (WAV, WMA, MP3 and ATRAC). I am begining to re-rip my CD collection with EAC->FLAC w/imbedded tags so that I can archive my collection and recover some space on my array of drives. My question, to those more experienced in the SonicStage/MD arena, is: What is everyone's preferred manner of keeping their files for long-term storage and for transfer to MD. I should preface this question with the statment that I am concerned ONLY with sound quality. (I have come to my own conclusion, from a brief experiment with ATRAC3+ @352,256 & 192. Nothing less than ATRAC3+352. I find the soundstage suffers too much with the lower bitrates and the artifacts start creepin' in.)I am also striving for gapless playback on albums that flow that way, hence the EAC rip to one WAV file. Is it kosher to transfer a file and add track marks in the player? Or is there a more elequent solution? Please accept my appologies for what seem like rudimentary issues. I have been out of the loop for quite some time, but this old-timer is trying to get up to speed. Thanks in advance for any advice,Bryan p.s. Please take a listen to what an old-school minidisc recorder was/is capable of in my first gallery upload.update: since the Gallery is down, I took the liberty of attaching the file here. I will move to it's proper place once the site is at "fully operational" status. Recording info: This was the chamber orchestra I was a member of when I was giging in NYC. We were on a tour of the central U.S. in 1996 and this was from Burlington, IA in an old high school theater. The equipment was an MZ-R3 and a p.o.s. Sony stereo microphone (the model escapes me, but I will provide later.)Enjoy!p.p.s. Could someone let me know if this attachment is working? I have attempted to verify, but am receiving an error. Thanks. Edited January 10, 2007 by Wunderkind69

Dr. Spankenstein
I get a memory size error when trying to D/L the file. I have 1GB of memory. That's what I was get, as well.Curious, as there has been 13 downloads at the time I write this.I'll try to upload the smaller version of the file. (I am by no means adept at MP3 encoding!)Thanks for the feedback.Bryanedit:I give up, I can't get this to work! Happy New Year! raintheory
In regards to trackmarking files transferred to the RH1, the only way to do this is either by recording in realtime, or using SimpleBurner in NetMD mode.
Dr. Spankenstein
Well, the best I've been able to come up with is to keep my FLAC encoded versions of the album and then a ATRAC Lossless version in SonicStage.Does anyone have an estimated time for the Gallery to come back on-line? I'm itching to upload some stuff for everyones perusal.Cheers,Bryan
