boojum Posted January 6, 2007 Report Share Posted January 6, 2007 I am driving up to Portland, OR, tonight to catch a local band, The Freak Country Ramblers and then the Holy Modal Rounds of the 60's and 70's. Gonna look like freaks and flashbacks tonight. Both bands are supposedly taper-friendly so I am going with the RH1 and a MS-957 for stereo in PCM and my old MZ-N1 to record binaural in SP mode. boojum Posted January 8, 2007 Author Report Share Posted January 8, 2007 (edited) OK, it was the Freak Mountain Ramblers, Michael Hurley and the HMR. The FMR were good, Hurley was not quite as good and HMR was a third place finish.No binaural: I did not want to sit reasonably still with the mics in my ears, plus we needed a mic stand to get the mic above the folks in front of us. The sound is so-so.
