MDS-JE510 to PC

The youth group I work for started broadcasting an hour a week on a radio station. We're given a recording of it on minidisc at the end of each session. We'd like to upload these shows to our website.

We just bought this

and I've got one of these

Will that be enough to be able to transfer what's on the minidisc as a digital recording to the PC as a WAV file into Audacity with no loss of fidelity?

I have heard that on many minidisc units, there's a problem taking the minidisc recorded on one machine and then popping it another to do what I am trying to do (some legal thing to prevent pirating). Is this true?

Anyone know if the unit we just purchased has such an issue? That would mean dragging the deck to the radio station each time - what a pain!

No those units should do it all right. Connect the JE510 (optical out) -> Edirol( optical in) -> PC (usb) and record in real time via Audacity. As far as I know the SCMS copy protection is obeyed by the Edirol unit, but if the MD you get from the radio station is an original recording, then you are allowed to make one copy to the PC.

of course he knows that I'm sure, but if they had done a bit of research and had bought an NH700 in the first place, then that could also be used to record and those (HiMD- recordings CAN be uploaded; and even now they could do that for all future recordings... that is just what bob meant unless I'm mistaken
