albert
Anyone else notice that CONNECT is not working? I've purchased three albums and after attempting to download each, I get a message saying that it can't download the files. I know it's not my computer because I tested it on three different computers. Plus, when I asked CONNECT for help, all they did was say that after testing the albums themselves, they agree that there is a problem. The solution: They gave me a coupon for a free album download...which resulted in another error message...

albert
albert,Welcome to "AtracLife"Connect software is still is in beta stage so i will suggest you to use Sonic Stage ver3.4 instead of Connect .I know this not the answer you want .Thanks for the welcome!I do have SS 3.4 installed. As a matter of fact, I have "SS 3.4 for CONNECT" installed. But your suggestion confuses me: SS is not a music purchasing download program. If I want to purchase music, I HAVE to use CONNECT. Also, is it true that CONNECT is still in beta stage? I've been using it it for years...!
willykyu
I think there's a bit of ununderstanding here! The US name of Sonicstage is "Connect Player" so far. When you download from the US connect store site the "Connect Player", you actually download the latest version of Sonicstage. Otherwise, in Europe and Japan, there is a clear distinction between Sonic stage, and Connect player, that are 2 different programs.Connect player is ONLY available when purchasing an A series type Walkman, with its installation CD included. And yes it apears that it is still (even in its latest update) in beta version, still lacks of features and is still full of bugs.Sonicstage 3.4 is now available and you can, without problems, access to the music store and input your ID to purchase atrac files, and download them from it.Maybe then, you haven't installed the proper version? did you install it from US site? what is your region? What surprises me, is that you could test on 3 different computers. I think it's impossible to log to your connect account on three different computers like that. Am I wrong? Tell us a bit more about your situation: what Connect player are you using, from what region, and your credit card number (I'm joking: NEVER give your credit card number o fcourse!!!) In fact, when I click on the CONNECT store icon, SonicStage 3.4 opens up (so they are one in the same). CONNECT now lets you register with up to 5 different computers - so this is how I was able to test it. In short, I just want to download a few albums from CONNECT so that I can then transfer them to my Hi-MD Player (nh900) - but the downloads are always unsuccesful. I just got another email from CONNECT support telling me that the problem might be with the artist...dare I purchase ANOTHER album from a different artist to see if it works?.Thanks guys, will let you know what happens
albert
OK...I was courageous and tried downloading another album by another artist, and it worked fine!!!So I guess I answered my own quetion: "No, CONNECT is NOT dead"Sorry for the bother and thanks for your help
willykyu
Sure! happy to know everything's fine. Just one little advice: Try not to buy in mass on Connect, as their brand new site is out on March, with new contents (videos, e-book), and we can expect new bitrates or options. One or two months to wait!
