Hi there,

i've had a good search about the site and i reckon i've already found the answer to this question but just wanted to confirm.

I've been given a heap of CDs on Net-MD format and a mate has asked me to transfrer them onto the PC using my NH700.

Is there anyway that this is possible?

I've downloaded WINNMD from the sticky in another forum however that can't transfer via USB and therefore needs to be recorded real time. The discs are a live recording of a week long trainnig event and top 60 hours of material!

Can anyone advise if there is a quicker way or do i need to get a classic Line in cable to run from the minidisc to the pc and tell my mate to wait?

Thanks for any help

brian

Only the RH1 can upload pre-Hi-MD formats... And even the RH1 won't upload material that was transferred to MiniDisc via SonicStage or OpenMG.. Only recordings done via Line/Optical/Mic can be uploaded with the RH1.

Got my RH1 2 days ago and I can confirm that using RH1 and SS 4.3, I hv successfully uploaded entire collection of songs recorded through Net md. I have a 707 net md with a lot of songs transferred through sonicstage and simple burner. Have not done any line in/optical in recordings. . It was a pleasant surprise for me, since I had read a lot in the forums abt this particular restriction.

The RH1 will let you upload SimpleBurner material (just found this out... though I think I had suspected this before). There may be an older version of SonicStage/OpenMG that had lax restictions which may allow uploads, but I am confident that any material recorded using a recent version of SonicStage will not be uploadable.

Doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a try if you can, by all means. I'm just stating what the known restrictions on the unit are, and also stating from my personal experience. I don't want anyone to get the wrong impression and spent $300 or more for a unit thinking they can upload all of their SonicStage material, only to find out that it doesn't work.

EDIT: I received an error at the end of transferring the SimpleBurner track I was just testing. So now I'm unsure if that actually works.
