I have a HI-MD unit (MZ-NH1) and battery life is not a problem. But with the MZ-R37, 45 minutes of recording and the batteries are shot. I have had both. The 37 just didnt cut it after I played with the R5o ( This was back when they were the NEW ones) I still have and use the R50 on a daily basis, that should tell you how reliable they were, 10 plus years and still going. I Like the seperate Line out , and you have better rec level control on the R50 as well , the mic pre in it is very nice.
