sector001
are u talking about opening an actual MD player or the MD blank? opening up the MD player would seem wasteful? unless the player was damaged.
Ishiyoshi
It's obvious that he/she is attempting to disassemble the upper (front) panel/cover of a MD player. That's the title of the topic.i use every player of each format , and i open every cover and protection , i want that people see the mecanism of the player , it's quite easy with tapes and cd's but i am asking about minidisc , it's a very small mecanism and i don't know how to open the player ...and wich one is the easier to open ???ian ian: Your project is certainly intriguing. To disassemble the top cover of a given MD player, the best route is to refer to its designated service manual. Each MD unit's service manual has detailed schematics and you should find most units relatively easy to disassemble. For your reference, you can browse thru the vast selection of service manual we have in our Download archive. (Hi-MD Service Manuals | NetMD/MDLP Service Manuals) Naturally, the next task is to locate a used/new MD player according to your budget. Good luck with your project and do share with us pictures from your show.
yanyan
thX a lot for your quick answer °!°It's obvious that he is attempting to disassemble the upper (front) panel/cover of a MD playeryou'r right , maybe my english is quite poor but you "ishiyoshi" understand me , thanks , i have seen some good informations in the manual service , but there is not all the md's , i am bidding on a mz-e90 , seems near from the e-900 and looks easy to "throw away" the front panel concerning the budget , i am with a production for this exhibition so i have no limits (staying reasonable) , i think i'll try some of , but i prefer to find an old one like an E-35 or E-50 , the E-900 looks nice too and it's not easy , if you know a good (virtual or real) place to find a large choice of MD , don't be shy : you can told me so...---Good luck with your project--- i need ---and do share with us pictures from your show.--- i will
A440
You should simply look on eBay. Stores that still sell old units usually have very high prices on them. And maybe on eBay you could find a non-working unit so you wouldn't be destroying one. For looks, the E players are nice but among recorders, so are the MZ-R900 (either red or blue), the MZ-N707 (black and red especially) and the MZ-N1 (silver). You can look at all the units here:http://www.minidisc.org/equipment_browser.html
Strungup
The Problem here is he wants the unit to still be able to PLAY while it is partially disassembled , notice the aspect of the art includes the SOUND of every format. That is what makes this difficult . the MD Player need its casing to hold the mechanisms steady to play the MD's Any of them can be taken apart , they just will not play in a disassembled state. yanyan
able to PLAY while it is partially disassembled ,that's right , during the instalation , the idea is that the players are playing deconstructing sounds with out any "skin" on it the md player need to work and play a disc in random option , the sound is on phones ( like for cd and DAT ),( and build-in speakers for reels , tape , minitape [really funny format , the smaller one °!°) , and turnetable with the numark portable !!! are you a dj in travel ? ---> http://www.thomann.de/fr/numark_pt01_tragb...ttenspieler.htm ) i am really interinsting about any feedback on this topic , For looks, the E players are nice but among recorders, so are the MZ-R900 (either red or blue), the MZ-N707 (black and red especially) and the MZ-N1 (silver).yes but, the problem is that the display is on the front cover and should makes problems: ,they just will not play in a disassembled state.well , i am looking on players have no display on the top and maybe should play in this state as: MZ e-90MZ-E25or this kind of , maybe older , one could play after a surgical operationis someone a surgeon?ThX °!° ian

yanyan
I HAVE FOUND IT/the MZ-E90 works very well without the upper cover , there no circuits inside it and we can see the disc turning in play mode , it's interesting because we can see very well when the disc is relaunching: the loading of the sound every minutes ,,WELL , thanks for your information , i am now building the installation and mixing the sound , i will put some picture when the exhibition will be ready THXian
