MZ-RH1: NetMD Thoughts for MD to PC Uploads

What if someone were to record a one second track onto an MD via SonicStage in NetMD mode and record that same track onto another MD via an optical cable i.e. out of a CD deck? Wouldn't we have two very similar MDs? Yes, but the NetMD disc wouldn’t be able to transfer its one second track back to its native PC if the track was deleted from the SonicStage library, hooray. What is interesting is that the optically recorded one second track will upload fine to that PC when inserted in a MZ-RH1.

I propose that the maker of Win NMD in all his wisdom compare these two MDs and see what is different. Primarily in hopes to overwriting only the necessary bytes on the NetMD disc to make SonicStage believe it was recorded via an optical cable. I'm sure that in the library of DLL files in Win NMD there are functions that allow one to read an MD in its entirety to an array of bytes and functions that write a byte to the disc at a particular index.

I believe that if someone here knew the disk structure of an MD then we aren't too far off from making our NetMDs into seemingly optically recorded MDs when opened in SonicStage. I didn't buy the MZ-RH1 to do real-time uploading and neither did you.

I would be grateful to continue discussing this issue.

Could the TOC from the optically recorded MD be extracted and then only specific parts are written to the NetMD disc? Namely, those variables that instruct SonicStage which source the discs were recorded from.

Unfortunately, encryption is also involved. There was a lot of work done on this but it wound up as a dead end.
