John S. Gray Posted April 20, 2007 Report Share Posted April 20, 2007 Gosh, the MZRH1 is a great unit. I mostly use it as one might use a DAT recorder, or one of the new flash-drive units. I have the output of a Mackie going into the line input, plain and simple. (great to have a Decca Tree sending signals to the Mackie, but that is a digression...)But when recording in PCM (or ATTRACS, for that matter) the MZRH1 keeps assigning a new track number (i.e. this must be a new song) when there is a moment of silence. But when recording modern orchestral and chamber music works live off a classroom floor or auditorium stage, there are many such pauses and near-silences, which composers have a right to write into a score if they so choose, for dramatic and/or musical intent. Now the thing will play back flawlessly, without pause, just flipping through the consecutive tracks. BUT, when copying the raw tracks, there are dozens of tiny tracks, most of them under a minute, that comprise one piece of music. It's certainly a pain in the butt to have to manually stitch those together to make one continuous track.So: is there a sensitivity adjustment for the automatric new-track-number assignment, or can it be disabled, so that a new track is only generated when going from pause to run, or by hitting the TMARK button? GrayToronto, CanadaBefore you import to the computer , Play the disc in question in the RH1 , then hit the Pause button. now with the jog button on the side , move from track mark to track mark , At eack track Mark you dont want hit the track mark button and the track marker will be removed. raintheory Posted April 20, 2007 Report Share Posted April 20, 2007 Unfortunately there is no way to disable the auto-trackmark feature when recording via line/optical input. Use the method described above to combine the tracks on the unit or use the combine feature under SonicStage's edit menu after uploading, just make sure the tracks are in order first.
