JosieC
Help! I am not a techie and I am having a real problem with my MZ-M200. I bought a replacement for a Hi-MD unit I had previously. I love the way they sound when recording my little jam band. We record our group and copy it to CD's for everyone in the group so we can improve our playing. Anyway, when I purchased this brand new MZ-M200 I recorded our jam band via the microphone and tried to transfer the tracks via Sonic Stage but, I keep getting an error message saying "Cannot use this disc as an audio disc because it was initialized by a program other than Sonic Stage" Then it goes on to give instructions on how to initialize the disc to use it as an audio disc. I have tried initializing the disc. I have purchased new discs. I am at wits end. I waited too long to return it under warranty. Now I can't use this unit for what I had intended. It allows me to record and I can even listen to the music on the recorder but, if I can't copy it off of the disk it is not very useful to me. I have contacted Sony about this problem about 5 times and they have had me try all sorts of solutions...alas, non has worked. Please, someone.....HELP ME! Please, someone.....HELP ME!Go to a freind who has a Macintosh , Download MD Transfer 2.0 on their Mac , Connect to MD to their Mac and see if you can get it off of there. It also could be the version of SS that you have running has a bug in it , SS is notorious for that . On the Mac as long as you have formatted and recorded in HiMD mode , what you have recorded should upload , and they will load as Wav files so you wont have any conversion to do , and you will be able to import directly to an Audio Editor . Signed an EX windows guy , Windows Repair certified , and .......I own a Mac.
A440
Initializing the disc will wipe it clean. You'll lose your music. Don't do that unless you're prepared to lose the recording. Guitarfxr, it would be cheaper to get a new RH1 than a new Mac. Could it be something as simple as a bad USB cord? Have you tried a different one? They are standard, USB to mini-USB--you may have one with a camera, or you can find one for a few dollars. It's also possible the USB port is broken, which is probably going to be an expensive repair. Definitely install a good version of SonicStage--either 4.2 or 3.4. Seach these forums for links (use "installer"). Also, look in Downloads (upper right on this page) and try the MDAC Repair Tool in case it is a database problem. Probably not, but you never know. Last resort: Get the MZ-NH700 and start again.http://www.minidiscaccess.com/item.html?PRID=1553219

My suggestion of BEING ON A MAC is that I do NOT have any troubles with the rH1 or SS encryption , because it come in as wav files . 440 .......I think your a little flat , calibrate your tuner
