theunderpass
I recently bought a Minidisc player/recorder. Unfortunately, it seems that I've ended up with one that is without a USB port. Is there any way to get your recordings onto a computer without a USB port or am I going to have to trade this baby in?
raintheory
You can record them to PC via analog in realtime using a 1/8" lead. You need a Hi-MD unit in order to upload anything. Some NetMD models have USB but NetMD units will not upload, so keep that in mind. Also you won't be able to upload any recordings you've made with your current recorder unless you get the MZ-RH1.Any Hi-MD recorder will upload its own recordings though, as long as you record in Hi-MD mode.Have a look here: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=7070And here to browse the models that are available: http://www.minidisc.org/equipment_browser.html Edited June 28, 2007 by raintheory

theunderpass
An MZ-R70! I've looked a little into the situation... as far as I know at the moment this piece is not necessarily a Hi-MD, just labelled "MD." Oh who am I kidding, I'm such a newbie. A440
MZ-R70 is very very old-school. You will onlyl be able to get recordings off it by recording them in realtime from the headphone jack. Hi-MD units have H in the model number, like MZ-NH700. The only units worth getting are the MZ-NH700, the MZ-NHF800 (same thing with FM radio in the remote) or, at about 1 1/2 times the price, MZ-RH1 .
