Acoustic Foam

Hi, I'm entertaining the idea of throwing up a soundbooth in my basement for voiceover work. Well, at least I am now after discovering a bunch of these foam inserts that my company is throwing out by the hundreds! They seem to have an ideal contour for lining a booth, though the foam is not very dense. It's hard to tell from looking at a pic, but does anyone see any reason why this stuff shouldn't work?

At Home Depot and Lowes both , there is some Expanding foam that comes in a can .

2x4's Plywood , inner layer /outer layer , make frame , run electrical outlets to where you want them inside the booth, wiring secured insideth two layers stapled to the framework .

Before you put the OUTER layer on , spray the expando foam inside each section 1 at a time , (ie. Expando , > Plywood >screws Quickly before the foam expands) Experiment with the foam a little so you get an Idea of how far it expands (Backyard is where you wanna do this it is some seriously sticky stuff)

Then Liguid nail the 300 foam peices to the inside walls of the booth , including the door with it cut out to just fit , so that when you close the door the foam kinda squeezes together .

Make sure of having a openable closeable form of ventilation to get it cool inside and Oxygen , Carpet the floors with thick carpet , your done go record.

Hmmmm....sounds fairly simple, thanks for that!

A step farther , is to put sliding brackets on the wall panel ends to make it modular , Take it apart , put it back when you need it , but they need to be recessed and perfectly cut , othrwise it doesnt work very well.(experience speaking there on that one)
