lol well its exactly what it means in the title i'll explain :)

I'm a VERY firm believer in the age old adeage 'if its not broke DONT FIX IT'!

And i've had my NHZ-600 for 3 yrs? 4? I think 4 now, its been that long, and and i drive for a living, at least for the summer so far. And i LOVE my little MD to death i really do. The only tiny thing that bugs me is switching disc's, other then that i love the ole girl!

But when your own the road driving and switching disc's at the same time you tend to let out that sigh and think 'God i wish i didnt have to switch disc's.' And i've been heavily thinking about a ZUNE lately, but then then i almost feel like i'm betraying my old faithful little MD as it obliviously and happily pumps out the tunes into my cube truck and happily comes along on my adventures. Since day 1 of people wanting it to being nicknamed IPK for (the i-pod killer) at the city cuase people hated it cuase 5 i-pods broke that summer, to being dropped in snow, and surviving friends kids, and God knows what else i am not remembering, and then i cant do it.

I cant buy a ZUNE when my MD works perfectly well. I know its a sick deprived thought that i think in the back of my mind and never speak out loud but i almost wish it might give out on me just so i'd feel guiltless about buying a ZUNE or something lol! Its like wishing death upon your worst enemy and not really meaning it hahaha.

I think it will pass....i'm probably only going to be driving for the summer and once thats over my immense need for music will be at and end and it'll be back to normal.... but if i ever wanted to buy something else i have too wait for my MD to give out first. I feel like i owe it that much lol. Its been kickn hardcore for like 4 yrs and never given me a single hic-up of trouble and i cant justify putting her on the backshelf in closet for giving me all those good years trouble free.

So its a love hate thing, i never want it to break and never want to stop using it but i want something with more capacity then 1gig per disc but i dont think its ever going to break and i love my MD to much lol.

Just a wierd paradox story i thought i'd share :)

Peace all!

Don't you think that switching discs is a big part of MD's charm? Opening and closing the RH1; the sweet click of the tray as it prepares the disc for use; collecting, labeling and storing your data. It all requires just a little bit of skillful use of the hands. A dying art in a dying world. You can keep all your ipods. MD will always rule.

It is an artform and something i dont mind, but when i'm driving at 120kmph on the highway with semi's and haul trucks coming at me i'd rather not have to do it lol.

What!, you can't talk on your cell phone, eat a burger, change MD's and wave at people at the same time!!!!

Just kidding, maybe the answer is a minidisc changer to a minidisc deck, luxury,

Bob
