JSP62
This question is probably best answered by Ishi & Stuge, which I can tell already know the ins & outs of SS / GYM.I am currently using SS 3.3 US on my home and work computer. I know that with version 3.4, DRM has been taken out.Does anyone know if upgrading from 3.3 US to 3.4 Japan can be done?...actually now that I think about it??? It can can't it? 3.3 will be uninstalled allowing for any fresh version of SS to be installed again right?
Ishiyoshi
Does anyone know if upgrading from 3.3 US to 3.4 Japan can be done?Yes, of course. You will just need to edit the Japanese SonicStage 3.4's web installer file a little to allow installation to run on an English WinXP. If you are interested, I have the edited SonicStage 3.4 (JE) Web Installer uploaded in this post.Note: if you want to avoid the initialization issue, choose SonicStage 3.4 of Asia-Pacific or JEB (Overseas) version. In addition, run a search within the software forum for further details regarding version variations with regard to hardware initialization. Can anyone adviseon the differences? The reason why I ask, is cause all the references I see to installing a different version of SS on an US computer/ previsouly installed US SS software refer to the JAP. Can I follow the steps of registry editing the same on A-P version as with the JAP version?PS - how rampant the intials terminolgies are on this post...(A-P , JAP, US)..I feel bad for all those who cannot follow Edited February 22, 2006 by JSP62
Guest Stuge
JSP62At the same time it is always better to upgrade from where you updated your SonicStage last time to prevent initialization issue Like I updated my SonicStage ver3.3 from Europe site so now i have made a habit to update my SonicStage from this site only .Also SonicStage Asia pacific doesn`t have Connect store (inbuilt)
JSP62
...Also SonicStage Asia pacific doesn`t have Connect store (inbuilt)Not being able to using Connect is not even an issue for me. It's funny I really don't even know what it is for..nor do I care to know. It's for buying music right? YeaThanks for the heads up Stuge Yes, of course. Most likely not, so what would I need to do ? Run the A-P installer as is and mod the registry ?

Run the A-P installer as is and mod the registry ?You do not need to modify the Asia-Pacific Web Installer to run on an English WinXP system. The only thing needs modification is the registry - that is if you want to title your ATRAC tunes in Japanese/Chinese. This applies to the Japanese version of SonicStage 3.4 running on an English WinXP system as well.Of course, run AppLocale along with the registry edit for any version of SonicStage 3.4 if you want to title in Japanese/Chinese. Ishiyoshi
Hey don't forget us Koreans man! Indeed. However, Hangul text display will only work with the PSP and the current NW-A series.
