1kyle
Hi allI still LOVE using a MDS JB980 deck. I have several MD's ripped into SP (I've got a couple of the older decks that can copy CD===>MD digitally although it takes a while as the copy is done at 2X the CD normal time). One of the problems is to get titling / track info on to the MD.I've done it a few times Manually -- vis SS to get the CD info and then cut and paste the song titles etc over to the MD but this takes a LONG time.Is there anyway to automate this process.(The JB980 deck played through a decent amp with good speakers is still one of the most enjoyable music experiences you can get -- as far as possible removed from highly compressed MP3's played on "Ipods" or similar and listened to on tiny bud earphones). Don't get me wrong -- for music on the move the portable player is probably OK but if you've never experienced music away from either a portable music device or a computer with fairly "Boomy" type sound systems you ahve really missed something).Cheers-K
Bwil
I don't know if he is still selling this, but here is the link to Martin Danek's WinRemote: http://www.czechin.cz/minidisc/wremote.htm. The page is still up.I have one of these and it worked really well. You just copy and paste track titles into the Title window and go. It's pretty fast. The only hassle was rigging a way to hold the LED in front of my deck. There is also a program for my old Palm m105: http://www.ellams.f9.co.uk/palm6.htm. It worked too, but less well. kino170878
I think your Sony deck should have the PC link connection socket? You could get the PCLK-MN10A with MCrew software. This is what I use, and it's great for copying titles from the computer to the minidisc and back again. Whatever is on the minidisc, all the information (though not audio of course) is transferred at the click of a button. You can build a whole database of titles using this program and Notepad/Microsoft Excel. I'm surprised MCrew has these features while they are completely absent from Sonicstage. I actually had one of these gizmos but never new what it was. It still was in the original package. Works fine (with software upgrade) --thanks.Note I only tried it on Windows XP -- I haven't got round (thankfully) to VISTA yet.Cheers-K
