manveruppd
I downloaded the in_atrac3.dll from this site, and although Winamp now plays .oma and .omg files just fine, it randomly crashes after it finishes playing one of these files. It's completely random, sometimes it'll crash after the first ATRAC file it plays, other times it'll go on for dozens of tracks before crashing, but it always does, and ONLY when I have ATRAC files queued up on my playlist, and always right after it has finished playing one of them (irrespective of whether the next file in the queue is another ATRAC file or an mp3, wma or any other kind of file).I'm using Winamp 2.5. Any ideas as to how I can fix this?

manveruppd
I was under the impression that Winamp versions 2.xx were identical in their innards to versions 5.xx except for the fact that they have the old-style interface and are lighter? raintheory
I've always had problems with those little bugs in the Winamp codec. Haven't used it myself in forever though.Upgrading might help. I'm sure most of the code is similar to v2, but there might be bug fixes in the way that winamp handles codecs that might resolve (or at least help) the issue. manveruppd
Hmmm.... the latest release (5.35) doesn't work on my system for some reason - at all! When I launch it, the winamp.exe process simply hogs 98% of CPU time and never actually opens the application window! I'm sure it's something wrong with my system rather than with Winamp, but rather than dig fruitlessly I just downloaded the 5.5 Beta, which works fine, but crashes, and, being a Beta, I don't know whether it crashes because I'm playing ATRAC files or because it's buggy. I'll spend tonight playing loads of mp3s and WMAs and see if it still crashes, and, if it doesn't, take it from there...
manveruppd
Yep, getting crashes even with non-ATRAC files, so I assume it's because it's a beta version... I'll have to wait for 5.5 to go on release (or for a more stable beta) before I can safely say whether it solves the problem of crashing when playing ATRAC files.
