Sammyboy
Just recieved a nice mixed batch of 80 Minidiscs which have various types of music on - problem is some of them don't have labels on/disc info and I can't identify the artist, album or both on some discs. When I connect my MD player to the PC and SonicStage, I can't get it to get the information on the artists etc. on that disc. There's no option. Also of course it won't let me transfer the music to my PC as it came from another PC and the damned copy protection won't let me do it So, is there a way of finding out the artist etc. via SonicStage/Gracenote, or is the required information for connecting to that (or any) particular internet database not stored on a disc typically?Hope you know what I'm talking about here! marcnet
You like in the UK, right? There is one way... if a bit crap:1) Get a mobile phone2) Hook up your MD player to your HIFI or computer or something with loud speakers3) Start playing the music at reaonable volume4) Dial 2580 on the phone and hold it up to the speaker for around 45 seconds. Yes, its the shazzam music recognition service :D5) Hang up6) You will get a text message detailing the artist and song========================== But as far as I know, if the disc has not been labelled, then there isnt a way of getting the details. Each track on the MD has info about the artist, track name, etc , but they are filled in when the tracks are put onto the disc by SonisStage. If any details are missing when this is done, then there is no way I know of of automatically filling these details back in. Sammyboy
I think that service costs money, though I could get a Sony Ericsson phone that has TrackID which connects to the Gracenote database via GPRS/3G to ID a song in a similar way.Looks like I'm out of look then otherwise, never mind! bobt
you could upload snippets of the songs here and see if anyone recognizes themHave funBob
Avrin
1. Upload everything to your PC (using the RH1).2. In SS, enter an uploaded album folder.3. Do no select any tracks, just click the "CD info" button. Chances are you'll get some. Edited October 17, 2007 by Avrin
Sammyboy
Great idea Avrin, though sadly I haven't got an RH1 - don't suppose you'll sell me one of yours? Though I will bear your suggestion in mind if I do get an RH1, I'm keeping my eyes open on Ebay!
