Two title entries with the same physical file

Hello,

I tried the search funktion, but found no solution.

I like to use one file on my HardDisk for two separate Entries in Sonic stage.

Example:

I have Album xy with song z......

Now i want the song z also to be available in Album yz....without duplicating it on my Harddisk

I's that possible ????

ps.

I saw somthing like that with the songs,i loaded from the connect store. They are available in the Album of the interpret and also in the album "erworbene Musik" (German Version)

SonicStage automatically assigns a song to the album it belongs according to its properties. You cannot change that.

BUT you can create arbitrary playlists with a different name and put all the songs you want in it. You can event set up SonicStage to display only playlists.

I wanted to Create Maxi-Disks. They contain nearly always the album Version, too. Creating Playlists is not the same, because the remixes files would be kept as an incomplete album.

SonicStage automatically assigns a song to the album it belongs according to its properties. You cannot change that.

After changing the position of my imported files, i had to select the path for some files in SonicStation manual. (doubleclick to play->file not found ->select file on HDD)

For one of these songs i selected the wrong file on the HDD (The song above ) after thinking a minute, i got the idea:

I renamed the "wrong song", so SonicStage again wasn't able to find the file, and i was able to reselect the now right one. after that, I renamed the "wrong song" to its former state.

This efect above i used know to get my maxi worked.

1. I made a copy of the song, i wanted to be added in my maxi-album.

2. Imported it standard.

3. Put it into the Maxi-Album

4. Renamed the Song copy

5. tryed to play....

6. Error message: File not found

7. Selected the original soundfile

8. deleted the renamed copy

it works fine.....

But now an other question: Will there be some kind of problems caused with the database ???

can it be currupted ??? Normaly not....because all downloaded Songs via connect store do the same....standing at two

positions inside the database.....
