silverclaws
Hi, I am new to minidiscs, and have just bought a pre owned Sony MZ R700. As far as I can see it is ok except for my first bit of copying, I recorded a CD which on playback had blank bits in it, when a blank bit occured, the disc indication in the LCD speeds up until the music is found again and the the indication slows down as it continues to play. Now the recording was done with an analog cable from a line out facility on a portable CD player, using an erased Maxell 74 gold minidisc.I have received the suggestion that it might be a fault with the recorder, the cable or the disc. So, I am looking at what maintenance I can do to the MZ R700, is there a maintenance guide available, what about MD cleaning discs ?I am shortly to receive a Sony DEJ 955 CD player, so I will try again using the Digital lead and see if there is a difference. If it is a fault with the recorder, has anyone heard of this fault and more importantly, does anyone know a fix for it?(p.s. I am ok with electro mechanical things from a repair point of view, so have zero qualms about surgery on the thing if needed)
