Hello, to improve my MD experience, I aquired a Sony D-EJ 955 CD player, great machine, but the rechargeable batteries are shot. Now, the originals were Ni cads, 1.2v 600mAh, gumstick batteries.

It would seem one cannot get ni cads anymore, in this type of battery, only Ni mh, which is fine, but the only ones I can find rate at a higher mAh, more than twice the Sony items.

The question I have is could I use these higher capacity batteries in the CD player without causing damage, the voltage of 1.2v is the same, only the type of battery and the mAh are different.

I only got the CD player, for transferring music to my MD via optical connection, but would like it to work as it should have done.Just me, if I have something, it has to work.

a higher ma rating will give you more playing time, any device will only draw what it needs, I have a Honda Elite scooter here that has a car battery strapped to the floor boards, starts great,
