quadnut
After converting my SP files in MarC's HiMD renderer to MP3s, I noticed that the track numbers are clearly labeled on the MP3s. Oddly, iTunes does not recognize the track numbers. Is that normal or did I forget to check something somewhere? I've been manually typing in all the track numbers for iTunes; is there a work around for that?

Oddly, iTunes does not recognize the track numbers. Is that normal or did I forget to check something somewhere? I've been manually typing in all the track numbers for iTunes; is there a work around for that? The Label , or File name , is different from what is called an iD3 tag , which is embedded in the MP3 itself , that is the file that iTunes wants to see. If an iD3 tag has not been created , iTunes wont see it . If you import these files to iTunes ( in iTunes prefs deselect import to iTunes folder , and the files will stay where they are ) then you can edit them individually and give them iD3 tags , then iTunes will be able to sort them and place them in a group instead of individual files saying "unknown artist "
A440
You can highlight a bunch of files in iTunes and tag them all simultaneously with Album, Artist, Year, etc. by clicking Get File Info. But I think track numbers have to be done individually. There's also mp3 tagging software like mp3tag at http://www.mp3tag.de/en/ Don't know if it would be of any help with this, though it says it will "import tags from filenames." marcnet
Sorry, the Mac version isn't possible as my program uses some of the DLL's that Sonicstage installs. It also uses DirectShow (part of Direct X) in order use these DLL's - and of course, Direct X is a Windows only thingI also don't actually own a Mac Edited December 19, 2007 by marcnet
