0 Guest Stuge
You might have changed the setting accidently Check this in Tranfer mode setting =>Select Standard tranfer mode ..
0 mercury_in_flames
Nevermind, I was being stupid. I wanted to just click all the 'albums' and transfer, when alot of the tracks were wav files.

0 VieloAiposh
you'll get the "compliant software" message whenever you use s.s.....it is basically just to remind you that unless you use sony's "connect" player software to trasnfer the files, certain functions of the player willl be unavailable....such as artist link.if you don't use these functions, i'd say, stick with s.s. because its alot more reliable.if you really want them, youll have to use connect to transfer.....and youll have to wait about a billion years for the software to "update" the artist link info after you import your media files.....and even then, you'll find that some of your tracks are not transferred to the device, giving unspecified "error" messages. also, after a while the whole program will come to a grinding halt, and never work again, until you completely remove every trace of the program from your pc, then re-install and start over....i have a pretty good pc, and even mine can not handle this program......to be honest, i think the folks at NASSA would struggle....basically, stick with S.S. and don't worry about the "connect compliant software" message i learned this after days of trying to get this connect software to work.if you stick to s.s. its a very reliable and useful piece of software, and your player will still work flawlessly, except without certain advanced functions.... 0 mercury_in_flames
Cheers for the advice.I spend about half an hour waiting for it to update the artist link information for 30 songs and even then it wouldnt work. Connect truely is a piece of garbage. My computer wasnt sluggish at all when it came to using the program, it just took ages to get all the information off the internet and add it to every single track i was importing, no wonder it is a resource hog, the amount of stuff it has to do just for the artist link thing. Ive got a P4 2.8 ghz , 1 gig ram , xp home laptop. If anyone says connect is better than S.S they deserve to be shot Edited March 6, 2006 by mercury_in_flames
