jgabriel
I have an MD-R900, and I just put in a brand new Ni-MH battery into it- the player did not function. So then I tried to charge it with my AC adapter, and the charge symbol flashed briefly and then the display screen went blank. This happened every subsequent time that I pressed the charge button. The same thing happened with an older Ni-MH battery. But when I inserted a Ni-Cd battery, it charged perfectly fine. Does anyone know why I can't use this brand new NI-MH battery in my player? Superbaldguy
I assume you are using an NH-14WM cell. Many of these are actually fakes, the market is flooded with them. I once bought four of them from one of those fly-by-night discount etailers, they didn't last more than a few months before they could not even be charged. My suggestion is for you to try a reputable dealer that would be selling genuine Sony gumsticks, such as Audio Cubes and MiniDisco. Many say the GB-branded gums are good, too. THIS SUCKS
maybe the batter is fully discharged and the unit doesnt like it. can you try to charge it by some other means then see if the unit can charge it after that?
