Nova
Ok, so i recently bought an album from connect music store within sonicstage, and i can only play it within sonic stage, why is this? Also, i want to transfer it from the computer which is registered to buy stuff from connect, to the computer which is set up with my walkman, but it only lets me burn it onto a audio cd, which ould mean losing all the song information. If i try to burn it onto an MP3 Cd, it says the media doesn't support it. Is there anyway of transferring this music from sonic stage so that i don't need to install the godawful connect software on my 'good' pc, just to stick it on my nwa.ThanksPaul. Guest Stuge
Paul, You can`t play those track in any other software because they are in Atrac format..& they are encrypted (DRM).So you can`t use them in different computer ..I will suggest you to use HIMDRenderer 0.54 Released (see last post of this thread) to convert them to mp3 .. kaledi
As you suggested, burn the album to a CD - it will even write CDtext information to the CD (just make sure that you go into the Disc properties to set the album title and artist name) and then imoport your new CD into SS on the computer registered to your Walkman. Even if you don't have the CDtext information importing the CD will allow you to access the CDDB database and obtain the album information from the internet. The reason you cannot just copy the ATRAC files onto your other computer is to do with DRM (which all legitimate download services use), which of course prevents wide spread distribution.Creating a CD also means you have a non-DRM back up of your purchased tracks - reason enough for me to create one! Nova
Thanks for quick replies guys, I'll try your suggestions. As for this DRM thing, it's rediculous, I'd rather pay the extra 2 or so quid for the cd if it meant that i could have it where i wanted it.
