I just downloaded Final , from Apple downloads . No iMic or anyother Griffin Device needed .

It Has in the Preferences pane Selection for input, WITH GAIN CONTROL ...+/- 20 db

I had my AT 822 connected directly to the line in on the Macbook Pro , increased the Gain 20 db , and hit the record button .

YES IT WORKS !!! a litlle noisy cranked AL THE way up. but this means real time transfers from MD , or any other device with a line out will work directly connected to your Computer.

That means the Track Marking function in Final Vinyl is now yours for the taking . FREE

The layout is simple and clean and looks good .

The list of effects are short and to the point .

Auto Mark

Clear Marks

Insert silence

Normalize

that is it , plus there is an effect view pane so the when you apply something you can see it in a separate window .

testing it right now , Recording , an older MD from the RH1 line out to the Mac input ,

It doesnt use very much processing power at all when recording . On editing it might be a little more involved , but it seems to be pretty quick .

Update :

Recording done , playing back the file now , Sound is nice and clean , This was recorded the R50 sometime ago from LP (Vinyl) so I couldnt upload it,

Audacity didnt do Track marks per say ( you could cut /paste/ copy ) but this has track markers and Very nice VU meters.

Track marked , files separated , and in the process of burning to CD .

very easy , I used , Final to mark and separate ( Control klik the track , a window pops up Save as , Name the file tell it where to go) from that folder I use "Burn " for Mac ( very cool prog) import the files in the order I wanted them and Burn an Audio CD .

Painless
