nduckett1
I have a collection of several hundred hours of mono recordings on 74 minute MD discs. I recently bought a MZ-NH1 so that I could upload these old recordings on to my computer. However, when I attempt to upload a disc, I am faced with a message that my computer is searching for a driver for my device. I find this a bit worrying as I am concerned that the MZ NH1 may not work with mono recordings. Does anyone know if this is the case? If so, Is there any other way I can do this operation by recording them from another player onto the HiMD disc for example?
kino170878
You need the RH1, not NH1, to upload legacy mono MD.
raintheory
You could certainly record from an older player to Hi-MD and then upload that, but it would make more sense to just record straight into the PC instead of going MD > Hi-MD > PC...What you can do is use MarC's Hi-MDRenderer program (specifically the "MD Recorder" functionality) to record the signal. Basically you would hook up your NH1 via USB and 3.5mm jack from NH1 to PC. The playback commands will be sent via USB, but the signal (because it is legacy MD) will be sent via the headphone jack. MarC's program will handle the recording and (I think) even title your files.MarC's program can be found here: http://www.marcnetsystem.co.uk/Keep in mind anything you do with these older MDs will be in realtime. If you have a lot of discs, it might be worth your while to (possibly) sell the NH1 and invest in an RH1. Strungup
Indeed , the RH1 . " Several Hundred Hours " he will get it down to about 60 cents an Hour in value if he buys the RH1 Time saved .......... Is money and stress saved as well . nduckett1
Many thanks for your help and suggestions. One other question. Before I go out and buy an RZ1 to upload all my mono recordings, am I likely to encounter any problems with Vista and Sonicstage?
