which sonicstage?

Hi, its been a while since ive been here and would appreciate the help...

I recently had to uninstall some programs from my pc, including sonicstage 3.4 [for use on my nh1], I have searched the forum for the same version and the link appears to be dead. So i have resorted to downloading 4.3. Im running Win2k SP3.

Will i have any issues using ss4.3, including uploading right protection etc. If so, can someone point me the right direction for a link to download 3.4 again.

4.3 works well for some people and not for others. Before you mess with SonicStage run the File Conversion Tool--in the Programs group or under Tools when you open SonicStage--to remove copy protection from the files in your computer.

Since you're running an older Windows, it's possible an older SonicStage is better for you. For me, 4.2 seems to be a little more efficient on my XP computer than 3.4 was, but you'll have to make your own choice for Win2K.

4.2 is better than 4.3 for anyone who's not stuck with Vista. Look at Avrin's post for the link and the (separate) drivers.

Sonic Stage 4.3 is an upgrade .IMO its much stable than Sonic Stage 3.4 .Rest it depends on your luck

SS 4.3 is the version for Vista users, so you might have issues if you install that on your machine. It would probably be better to install SS 4.2 instead.

I am running SonicStage 4.2 on a W2K SP4 machine. Everything is perfect. But I did have problems with 4.3 on the same machine a year ago.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Surprisingly, 4.3 seems to work fine on my pc, and i think the transfer to md is slightly faster than before.

On a side note, is it possible to reduce the transfer time to md, as it seems so unneccessarily time consuming when I have got some new music to put on and listen to, but have to wait for the transfer time.

try playing around with bitrates, some transfer quicker than others. either way they are all faster than real time.
