RedemptioN419
Or is it that the NW-E507 cannot play ATRAC3+ in 128...I'm confused. I could transfer ATRAC3+ 128 in my NW-E307
Guest Stuge
RedemptioN419,Those new bit rates are only compatible with E307 ..You can`t transfer Atrac3 Plus 128kpbs ,160kpbs &320kpbs in E507.
RedemptioN419
Dang, thanks for the heads up though.I'm trying to get a good balance between quality and space. Is ATRAC3 at 132 Kbps good? I've heard bad rumors about it .
RedemptioN419
I feel quite embarrased to not have used the search engine. If you want to fit more songs on E507 with decent sound quality then go with Atrac3 132kpbs But if you want better quality then go with Atrac3 plus 192kpbs but it will require more space as compared to 132kpbs ..But the ratio of Sound quality/space goes with Atrac3 132kpbs..Thanks again, Stuge
Guest Stuge
Dang, thanks for the heads up though.I'm trying to get a good balance between quality and space. Is ATRAC3 at 132 Kbps good? I've heard bad rumors about it .For Decent sound quality & Better battery life Atrac 132kpbs is the best.My E505 have many files in Atrac 132kpbs .Just b`coz of space problem. But I use Atrac3 Plus 192kpbs in HD5 or HD3.Atrac3 plus will sound better than Atrac 3 ..thats why Atrc 3 plus 128kpbs will sound much better than Atrac 3 132kpbs . RedemptioN419
Atrac3 132kbps better than MP3 128kbps?I just thought that if I was going to Atrac3, I would just rather us MP3. Its either Atrac3+ at 64(for space)or MP3, because I'm pretty reluctant to use Atrac3. 1) it has inferior sound quality to Atrac3+(if it were 128) and 2) MP3 probably sound about the same. But if Atrac3 is the same as MP3 to everyone elses standards, i'll pick up Atrac3 for its use of battery. MP3 would soak up a lot of battery, I think. Edited March 20, 2006 by RedemptioN419
Guest Stuge
Atrac3 Plus 132kpbs is much better than Mp3 128kpbs IMO but different people has different opinion..You will get good battery life even after using Mp3 128kpbs .Around35-40hours .Even after converting your mp3 `s to Atrac it will still sounfd like mp128kpbs or poorer .Remember during transcoding sound quality is slightly lost .I use Atrac only for the songs which i have in cd..I don`t convert Mp3`s to Atrac . RedemptioN419
How about converting from a higher bitrate to a lower one? Like MP3 at 160 to Atrac3 at 132? Sound quality will still be lost?Maybe if I convert a file from MP3 192 to MP3 128, it won't lose sound quality because its in the same format...and converting formats are the only way that conversion takes away from sound quality. Guest Stuge
Hey Redemption ..Converting from a higher bitrate to lowbitrate .. file will definately lose the sound quality. It doesn`t matter whether it is in same format or not but it is not the noticeable to our ears .why don`t do you try your self b`coz for some people mp3 128kpbs is also good but not for some .soo try yourself.
