NW-E407 - VOLUME

i usually listen to this player between 25-31, but at vol level 31 it doesn't seem loud enough. is there anything that can be done to increase the volume? just bought a pair of mdr-ex71sl's.(damn, that extension cord is way too long!) they sound good but i am sure I can push them a little further. Is it that these core players don't have enough amplification? I have got the AVLS switched off so it can't be that. any advice welcome.

I`m sure you must have bought your player in Europe & Due to French Law players sold in europe come with in-built volume limiter .In E400(series) we can`t put that limiter off by going to test mode ..

You could consider getting some more sensitive earphones (eg. Sennheiser MX550) or isolating earphones (eg. Shure E2c). You could even use an external headphone amplifier, though this will add considerable bulk and expense...

May also try a earphone with increased sensitivity specification (110db/mw or greater) -- Ultimate Ears brand, for example. Don't know if those are available in the UK. The disadvantage is that they may reveal the amplifier noise.
