Ok, so I need all kinds of help. I installed the NETMD drivers and I can not figure out how to transfer the songs in sonicstage. Unfortunately I do not have any of the original documentation anymore. Is anyone able to help me on this? Thanks in advance for your time.

Oops, wrong forum, please move if you need to. Thanks!

Hi, Is that a 520, rather than a 5200?

What version of sonic stage do you have? You should have at minimum 3.4, or up. Make sure you are using a 74 or 80 minute disc, plug everything in, puter should recognize you have a device plugged in, SS should have the details, you may have to build a library, if you don't want to do that, import from a directory, or use simple burner to direct transfer a cd to the unit.

Good luck,

Bob

Yea sorry, its the 520D, I don't have my glasses so the D looked like a 0 to me. I have sonicstage 4.3, and I go to click transfer, and I get 3 cd options and nothing else. When I plug in the MD player the front of it says PC->->MD. I am not using the cord that came with the player to transfer, but it doesn't seem to me like that should make a tremendous difference, its a 5 pin mini usb cord so it should work from what I figure, although I could be wrong. I am going to try to use the simple burner now and see if it works. Thanks!

Simple burner did not work, It said my CD drive failed its compatibility test so now I am back at square one

Are you using Vista? Simple burner won't work with Vista, I don't know about other OS's, if you don't have vista, get rid of 4.3.

You have to give SS something to transfer for it to work, either let it create a library, or import a cd, then once it's in the transfer box, hit the transfer arrow. I'm not sure if you'res is MDLP, or SP, for now just try a simple transfer.

Your unit is a downloader, and it is a one way street, you can't put anything from the MD back into the puter.

Good luck,

Bob

It is Vista. When I select transfer I get 3 choices-Create an Audio CD, Create an ATRAC CD or Create an MP3 CD. Are any of these the correct choices? Is there an easy way to know if my PC is even recognizing my MD player. The MD player seems to know that is is plugged in, but I hear no plug in noises when I connect in to my PC, and in the Computer view I see all of my disc drives, but usually when I plug in an MP3 player it will show an additional drive that is that player. Does it work the same way with MD? Thanks again!

Sonic stage should recognize that you have a device pluggedin, and with it recognized it should give you an option of trandferring to MD as well, you could try a reinstall of SS to see if that helps, anyone else out there with Vista, Net MD and 4.3 to help out!!
