dimm0k
Finally got around to pulling off a recording I made of a concert a few months back and listening to the recording on the computer and off the original MD there's like half a second of silence at one point in the recording. It's noticeable because it happens during a song. Anyone know what the possible causes for this could have been?
NJDUKE
More information is needed. What MD unit were you using? Some have a history of recording dropouts. Was the microphone secure? Were you bopping to the beat?
kino170878
I remember reading some threads about this. The basic answer is that the Hi-MD format is simply not 100% fullproof. In a continuous live-recording session such as a concert many users have reported gaps of about a second or less sometimes occurring more than once on the same disc. You should be able to edit the space out though later on. Other than that there is not much you can do.
culp4684
Not sure if it's related...but I've had the same problem a few times (very few) on material that was transferred to disc on Sonicstage. I believed it to be disc related because the problem would go away if I tried a different disc with the same material...
