Sony used to make high-end Discmans until recently. Models like the 905, D-EJ01 and D-NE10 just kept getting better and better in sound as well as design. Now all they make are the cheap ones. It's a real shame because technology is getting better but it is not being used for high end Discmans. CD is still superior to MP3 and I hope this trend changes and Sony starts making these cool expensive Discmans once again.

I have a vintage Discman (D-131) in my garage, as well as 2 D-NE700 ATRAC/MP3/CD Walkmen, with one being used in my AK47 CD/DVD "hustle bag" as part of my "try before you buy" setup, which includes a silver RM-MC33EL and MDR-V700DJ along with it/

I would probably buy more, provided the market on eBay holds up over time, but yes I have owned a slew of different Discmen/CD Walkmen since 1986, my frst unit being the D-7S Discman, followed by various others over all the years that I collected them but later had to sell in order to pay the bills when money ran low.

Hopefully I will be able to get most of my old units back (or at least the same series of models), because the market is soon to run dry, in fact I predict that the Discman/CD Walkman market will run out before the MD/Hi-MD market does.
