xeno_basso
Hi, just begining in the live recording field. Tried out a public concert on the weekend and set levels manually (around 10) and got a good recording bar the bass. As soon as the bass starts thumping, the meters are well within the 0VU mark but the sound is all distorted. From reading the forums it appears I need a battery box together with a mic that can be plugged into Line input. However, I want to keep it reasonably portable and easily carried. The Sony mic I was using is nice and compact but willing to accept its not up to standard if that is the consensus. Is there a better mic that I should be using or is recording live music with thumping bass a waste of time unless you get a battery box and better mic?Very keen to hear reader suggestions and other pointers in this field.Cheers, xb
Giant_Rick
If you want a battery box, why don't you take a look at a thread in the 'Live Recoding' section, it's clear and interesting!
