zahne
Someone told me there was a TASCAM MD deck that had a built in QWERTY keypad on it for easy disc/track labeling. I've never seen it anywhere, is it super rare?
KJ_Palmer
The Tascam decks all seem to have a PS/2 socket for connecting an external Qwerty keyboard, but then again so do many of the Sony decks. I haven't seen many, or indeed any in the shops, but some may still be available online, or from the Tascam website. They tend to be 'professional' recorders, ie. more expensive and fuller featured than consumer decks.
Aleko
Sony MDS-JB940 is one of them.http://www.superfi.co.uk/images/MDSJB940bklg.jpg
zahne
interesting. i wonder if a remote control socket could be modded to accept a keyboard. but there may be internal logic allowing a keyboard to recognized. sometimes with technologies, like minidisc, unlikely devices come with functions that aren't advertised but exit none the less. maybe an unsuspecting md device has the proper drivers to accept a keyboard? zahne
Are there universal remotes with QWERTY keyboard that could be programmed for MD players? i.e. could by MD deck by sharp be programmed to recognize it?
