bluecrab
Is there any reason I couldn't get one of those little USB > Optical converters, play music from iTunes, and have it wind up on MD, with track marks? I know it'd be real time, can live with that. Anyone doing or done this? What kind of results?Music path would be: iTunes > USB > USB/Opt converter > MD.Thanks if you know! The method you describe will not give you track marks, it will send the audio , but track marks require a certain signal spike that will not be in the signal chain .If you record Analogue 1/8->1/8 stereo , the silence between the tracks will trigger the marker in the MD , but when recording optical the Marker in the Md requires the info from the Optical signal . If it isnt there , it wont mark. You will only get audio , and 1 long track ( you can fix it later in the MD itself by putting track marks where they belong )
