So do you need Phantom Power if your condenser mic doesn't have a the option of accepting a battery? My condenser mic has a AA battery, a feature I don't see on high end mics.

Short answer =Yes

Look up the model number and make of the mic on the website of the maker , And look at the "Specifications" or Specs for short .

Should list the Power requirement

Condensers = require power

Dynamics = No Power

What mic do you Have ?

It's a cheapo camcorder mic but it does the job. It's and HTDZ HT-320A. Thanks for the input.

The Mics for Camcorders generally run off of "Plugin Power " which is very low voltage , and current . True Phantom power is a Different animal .

Condenser Mics that are XLR Balanced output generally need Phantom Power which is somewhere between 11 - 52 volts , and it will state it in the Mic specs.
