Memory battery failure , Replaced , still Flash rom fried or whatever it died .I think yours is about to do the same , The boards only last so long . Thanks for anything you can throw my way.....PaulThe Battery is soldered to the main mother board , you have to dismantle the whole unit keeping the screws attached to a length of tape in the order you take them out , then marking all wire attachments so you can get the mother board out , and desolder the Battery from BOTH SIDES of the board ( It is a two sided board ) . and you have to be very careful about static discharge , it will fry the processors . Involved process , not really for amateur hands but if you have some technical ability , then it isnt a big deal . just time consuming .the battery is a standard CR2032 but with solder tabs , an electronics shop might have one Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
billcra Posted January 30, 2010 Report Share Posted January 30, 2010 I had the same problem - Low Battery. I opened the box expecting to see a soldered in CR2032 but was pleased to find one in a holder. Was really easy to get to - just remove the screws from the base that are marked with arrows, take the two screws out of the Midi socket panel at the back and take the slider and jog knobs off then carefully pull it apart and unscrew the short black wire attached to the jacks. Now unplug the two other cables that prevent it opening. I powered it up before removing the battery to prevent any data loss. The battery pops out with a small screwdriver, slip a new one in and put it back together - power up and error message is gone. Took me less than 30 mins and it all works fine.
