How to transfer from MD to MacBook?

Hi, I am new to this and not nearly techy enough...

I have a Kenwood DMC-K7R(L) and would like to transfer my minidiscs to my computer or a cd somehow. I have a MacBook running OS 10.5.7. I will buy a cable but am not willing to buy a new piece of equipment (RH1 seems to be mentioned a lot out there) to achieve this goal. I have itunes and garage band. I will download additional software if necessary but will not spend a huge amount of dollars on it.

I am desperate for guidance! Am I completely out of luck without buying new equipment?

Just thinking of alternatives here... maybe there is a service that will do the transfer for me? Or would anyone out there who has the transfer system down like to make a few bucks?

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can offer!

First ,........do NOT mutipost the same thing all across different threads. Uncool

Secondly , The DMC-K7 ( I have a similar machine in my stash ) is an SP mode only Machine . It isnt made to interface with a Computer . Period

So , Your ONLY option , is to download Audacity , or Final Vinyl , both are free . and use a 1/8 Stereo ----> 1/8 stereo cable , Male plug on both ends

Use the Headphone out on the Kenwood , plug into the Line input on your Mac . Go into Sound settings , and set your input for Line instead of Mic ( usually Mic is default on all Mac Laptops with Mics on them . Play the MD , Record into the Software " Real Time " That IS the only option .

Thank you again for your help. I bought the cable and downloaded the software and am now happily recording away. You are a life saver! My next step will be to burn them but one step at a time. Again, I can't thank you enough for your guidance! :)

If you want to Convert to MP3 there s another freebie called " Switch " from NCH Sound , there are 2 version , one is fee and limited to a set number of files at a time , and certain file types , but I dont need more than what it provides .
