JSP62
Alright guys, I got a real BIG problem and I need some input.Last night I was messing around with some old tracks that I had when I first bought my used Vaio Pocket. I had saved the OMGAUDIO folder that had the songs that I liked and wanted to keep. At the time I was not aware of how I could get the tracks back to MP3 format (this was pre-GYM knowledge) onto my computer for archiving, but I knew I would a way sooner or later.Since then I have built my own library of tracks and have EDITED THEM ALL for categorizing. This took my a VERY LONG time and I am sure many of you can relate. I have over 250 albums of music which is roughly 20GB.So what I did was renamed my current OMGAUDIO foler (the library I created) and then copied the old OMGAUDIO folder (library present when bought) onto my player and was able to transfer the songs onto my computer via GYM. I then deleted the OMGAUDIO folder and renamed my previous OMGAUDIO folder back so I could have MY library back. I then transfered the newly copied songs back onto my VP and now I can't get VP to play the songs.Went to bed and this morning while driving, I tried to play songs and it would not work. AHH !!! !@#$!@#$^!#@@#$! I had to force shutdown the unit and reinitialize it. Thankfully all the tracks still show on the player, but none of the songs play. Not even the tracks I had on their before the added old tracks from the previous owner. I have no clue what to do and even no ideas of what could have happened.I have the whole day to make my theories and hopefully ideas to troubleshoot today.I NEED YOUR HELP THOUGH. If anyone has any input to this, I would like to hear your thoughts. The last thing I want to do is start all over ... and if that is the case I would rather sell it. Guest Stuge
This all because of DRM ..I hope you still have those songs in SonicStage .
JSP62
This all because of DRM ..I hope you still have those songs in SonicStage .I don't beleive your right on that Stuge. The reason why I say so, is that all the tracks that I had loaded were done via the "Vaio Transfer" software and all the formats were MP3. None of the tracks were loaded via SS. My library on SS is empty cept for a few albums that I see as having no relevance to my problem.....Albums that are not on my player. The bad thing is that there are so many possibilities of what happened it will be hard to determine what exactly happened. I am confused how it was not a problem before, but now it is. Even so, I cannot see why it would render my unit from playing tracks. **Has anyone who reads this, had any similiar problems with tracks being seen but non-playable on their DAP players?** Edited April 20, 2006 by JSP62
JSP62
I had copied my OMGAUDIO folder and reformated my HDD on my DAP, then copied my OMGAUDIO folder back. All the songs were able to be seen, but again could not be played. The only way the songs would play would be through SS or GYM.I need some suggestions of what to do.Before, I did not mention that I had installed a winamp plugin so that I could play atracs from winamp. Perhaps this may be a factor as to why I am having this problem ??? Hopefully someone who has read/posted in the ml_sony forum can help
