JSP62
REF: http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1564For the first time I had this problem. This time it is something else and I cannot figure it out.For those who take the time to help me troubleshoot this, I am greatly thankful. The other night I loaded up 2.5 GB of music and again this morning it wouldn't play.Ater I got home from work, I repeated the suggestions you mentioned before.1) I searched for for files that were old. (FOLDERS EXCLUDED) There were only 2 files that had today's date (4/27). All the others have 4/26 and they were not any others with way off dates. So I deleted the 4/26 files and unplugged from the PC. My unit didn't show anything under Genre/Artist/Album/Group. I know there is space used up, cause I can see it under system information under my settings. Now when I plug my unit back onto my PC and open SS, then select my device I get some errors that I have never seen. I keep getting this error message over and over. Perhaps you may recognize it ?2) Before I did anything I backed up my files (FOLDERS EXCLUDED). So I put back the files and then tried the other option you suggested, 'delete all files except for 04CNTINF.DAT' then unplugged my DAP from my PC again. After that I get an error message from my DAP saying "Music Information update failed'. Also Genre/Artist/Album/Group doesn't show when I do this too and I get the SS errors.I am scratching my head on this one and going bonkers. Guest Stuge
Use M3FM ver 2 or Vaoi pocket manger & transfer one mp3 file ..Then again use SonicStage .Your problem will be solved .
JSP62
I partly solved my problem. On a hunch I deleted one of the files in the folder. If you take a look at the second picture you will see a file called MACLIST1.BAK and MACLIST1.DAT. I deleted the .DAT file and renamed the .BAK extention file to .DAT.It seems that I solved the problem, and now I have some new problems to troubleshoot: - Vaio music transfer doesn't work anymore (tried uninstalling and reinstalling. STILL NO GO).- MP3FM allows me to add tracks and MP3FM/SS/GYM sees them, but won't play them. Also trying to play them unplugged freezes my VP.- Tracks added on the day when I started having the problem plays fine on SS/GYM, but still do not play on my VP and freezes. At this stage, I think it best that I delete the ~2.5GBs of music I added and reload them. Hopefully this can solve the problem. The only thing is 'Vaio Music Transfer' (VMT) doesn't work and though MP3FM will add tracks, I feel it won't let me play....I will have to test this. I am more interested in understanding why VMT doesn't work anymore. Anybody have any explanations to this???
JSP62
**UPDATE**Looks like some of my tracks work and some do not....this included tracks that were loaded prior to the ones that started my problems.I am trying to determine why and also how many of my albums do not play.I wonder if its at all starts at a certain date when my albums were added. JSP62
**UPDATE**Looks like some of my tracks work and some do not....this included tracks that were loaded prior to the ones that started my problems.I am trying to determine why and also how many of my albums do not play.I wonder if its at all starts at a certain date when my albums were added. PROBLEM SOLVED! Though I was trying to avoid starting from scratch, I could not isolate the issue. My database, file tree, whatever you call it was messed up. I bit the bullet and I'm starting all over. The good thing about it is, that while I previously had all 28GB of songs on it, I transferred them using GYM because I had ID3 tagged them and archived my collection to DVDs. This makes it easier to load back onto my computer then to SS then to my DAP. I can add pics through SS and organize a little more.YES CUMBERSOME!! But good dicipline. I am trying to stay positive. Thanks for all those who have helped my with suggestions and answers to my inquiries - OTIASJ, STUGE, XISPE and anyone else I forgot to mention.
