Recently around christmas I got a HD5 and I loaded up my music on to it only to find that almost one out of ten songs had gliches in them like a cd skipping. Well I no longer have my HD5 and now own an E507 and this problem is still there. On my old HD5 the songs would keep playing but now on my E507 the song just doesn't play. If anyone knows how to correct this could you please enlighten me.

Thanks,

Kennymester

Under Tool->Then Options -->Cd Importing --> here Check "Use Smoothning when reading the cd`s ..Also under cd importing format ..keep Recording Quality High..this will increase the time of cd importing .

It has nothing to do with CD importing. I have the mp3 file in my library and it runs perfectly fine then I would transfer it to my E507 or HD5 then the corresponding atrac file on the device is missing time and it does not play right.

Thanks,

According to me it is basically related to Cd ripping that`s why cd skipping problem has happened .I also have the same problem but ripping the cd again solved the problem.

The files are mp3 downloaded then put into sonic stage. The files then play fine, they do not have any skipping. Then when I transfer them into atrac they goof up and have skipping in the song. I know what your talking about the CD skipping but I did not take the songs from a CD. If anyone else has had this problem and fixed it please post how you did it.

Thanks,

Have the same problem, mostly with songs edited with Audacity. It's ruining my Neon album :unsure:

I would stop using Audacity. Try using something else, perhaps Cool Edit (now known as Adobe Audition). That's what I use when I need to work my tracks. I use Audacity too, but only as a second.

SS 3.4 does have this kind of glitch. I once encountered it when tranferring tracks from one Hi-MD disc to another. The tracks were fine one the original Hi-MD. I transferred them back to the PC (I had deleted the original ripped ones after having transferred them to the first Hi-MD disc some time before that). Then I inserted a new Hi-MD disc and transferred the tracks to it. Two of the tracks had skips. These did not sound like CD skips (when a CD head looses the track and returns to almost the same point after some moments), but they were simply pieces of silence about 0.3-0.5 seconds long in the middle of the tracks. The tracks were originally encoded into ATRAC3plus@192 kbit/s from a CD, and then transferred "as is".
