granbajo
Has anybody tried using it under WINE? Would it work.I have a Mac, and I know it recognises the device as an external HD. Linux should be able to recignise this as well.

Linux should be able to recignise this as well.Even if linux recognises it ..he/she won`t be able to use it b`coz SonicStage or Mp3file manager ver2 doesn`t work with it . moustacheky
what about the winamp plugin? couldn't that be an interesting starting point for linux compatibility? i don't think it really uses sonicstage or mp3fm, does it? i don't know a thing about programming but it would be cool if someone could manage to make it work on linux... then sony would be about the only hdd based mp3player compatible! chriswyatt
Apparently, with the way that Connect was programmed it wouldn't have been too difficult to port it to Linux, but seeing as Connect Player has been dropped it probably doesn't matter anyway. JSP62
Getting Linux to recognize your player can be done, I am sure its tricky..but can be done.Linux isn't as restricted as M$ or Apple. You just need to do your homework and do some testing. Should be set if you can get SS to work through winERef links for starters: http://tuxmobil.org/portable_players.htmlhttp://www.pdr.cx/projects/gnetmd/main/http://blog.gmane.org/gmane.comp.audio.net.../month=20020601
moustacheky
since i don't know anything about programming, i don't see myself develloping a linux tool for atrac devices. i am about to switch to linux though, so if anybody wants to give it a shot, i'll be more than willing to try your program out and give you all the feedback you want...
