Firmware Updates for E4xx/E5xx

It is disappointing that sony is not releasing any even minor firmware updates for the E4/E5xx walkmans to be able to play AAC files. Why is Sony doing this? Is it a hardware limitation, or are they just trying to get people to upgrade their devices?

Yup..Hardware limitation ..that means the chip used can`t suppoet WMA ,AAC..

Can`t say but new Firmware for V2.01 has been released by Sony (Firmware for Japanese version of A608/A607/605)

I know its not the upgrade you are looking for .You need your A608 to support AAC/MP4/M4P/ format .
