Guest eye
Appreciate if you will enable a full install download for SSCP 4.0. Not everyone has broadband internet connection. In the East, there's a saying ... "when u wanna send off the buddha, u must escort the buddha all the way to the west" ... what it means is that, pls don't do things halfway, and your customerS will be happier. Guest GD
Semi-Offline Install I was in need of this also due to the inability of the web installer to deal with a proxy (dealing with multiple MZ-M100s in setting up a DV lab). Anyway, my workaround was to get it dowloaded on a machine outside our net that did not have any of the components installed (so I was sure I was getting everything). The install files are placed in the %TEMP% directory in a folder called sonicdl.tmp. Once it has downloaded everything and begins the install, you can copy the contents of the sonicdl.tmp folder to a drivekey or other folder (be aware that once the installer has completed, the sonicdl.tmp folder is deleted). The installer goes through several "steps" in installing. Each "step" has a corresponding compressed folder (or folders in the case of openmg) in the sonicdl.tmp. Extract each folder and you will see that there is an installer/setup file. Since you will need to duplicate the steps, you should write down the pattern when installing on the Internet connected machine. Then when you take your drivekey, cd, or whatever to the "offline" machine, you can duplicate the setup by just manually running the installer files in the same pattern. This worked for me , but it's a bit complicated and requires you have access to a machine with broadband and privilege to do the inital install. Hopefully they will finalize the full installer soon. Ishiyoshi
A full installer (identical to its CD-ROM version – equivalent to approx. 88MB) is available from Sony Europe's VAIO FTP. Unfortunately, MDCF's streamlined version will not be available anytime soon. We will try our best and release it before the next update.
